This is the base model, for the interior of the massive Delos statue's left foot. We had a rule to make all close up polys no smaller than 2m, to support the vert lighting system we had, so to save memory
I built every piece into the grid and reused them as much as possible. Many of these pieces were reused in the other Delos areas as well.
This room is one of the puzzle rooms, where you need to move the chain and gears in order to advance forward. Design did change slightly later on, but overall, the puzzle is the same.
I created all the art shown on this page, based on the concept I got, but later on other artists tweaked this further with foliage and other design tweaks.
The zBrush modeling of the wood to the right is pretty simple, no crazy detail, just the base shapes and edge detail. I added all smaller details to the diffuse and spec later but kept the normals pretty clean to avoid noise.
